Taking place from 5th to 7th June is the world’s biggest three-day polo and lifestyle event: Chestertons Polo in the Park. Just 25 minutes from Fulham Pier Hotel, this fabulous festival located at Hurlingham Park offers three days of world-class polo on display.

On Friday 5th June, it starts with International Day and a summer chic dress code. The day promises a mix of sport, style and luxury. There’s the chance to network and watch three polo matches before England and South Africa battle for the Olympic Trophy.

Saturday 6th June brings Ladies Day and upgrades the summer chic dress code to include flair so you can wear your best floral dresses. There are three more polo matches to take in, featuring teams from cities across the globe. As one of the early highlights of London’s summer social calendar, this garden-party-style day brings the most glamour to the weekend.

Chestertons Polo in the Park culminates in Finals Day on Sunday 7th June. There are two more polo matches before the grand final of the festival and the prize giving ceremony that follows. Also on the last day of the festival, there’s a party with music and drinks. Live DJs and entertainment and a cocktail bar with champagne will help you to end the weekend on a high and close the festival in style.

Visit the Chestertons Polo in the Park website for more information about the festival.

2. Wimbledon

Wimbledon Tennis Stadium

The world’s most prestigious tennis tournament is back and gives the perfect excuse to treat yourself to strawberries and cream.

Starting from Monday 29th June, professional tennis players will take to the grass at Wimbledon and compete to write their name in the history books. You can get to Wimbledon in just 35 minutes from Fulham Pier Hotel using the London Underground service and bus routes.

Visiting during The Championships

If you have a ticket, be sure to check the order of play and plan your time out accordingly. There is a Wimbledon app you can download or simply check on the website. The atmosphere is electric, whether you’re sitting in Centre Court or watching games on the big screens around the area.

Make time to explore The Wimbledon Lawn Tennis Museum, as your ticket gets you free entry, and get a feel for how much history is behind the peak of the tennis calendar.

Wimbledon is often a warm, sunny affair so be ready for the heat and make sure you’re taking opportunities to step away from the action and cool down with drinks, snacks and the traditional strawberries and cream.

The Championships has a number of restaurants including the Centenary Brasserie and The Cavendish which provide a relaxing pause for lunch. There’s lots of options for food and drink on-the-go too, if you’d rather quick breaks over sit-down meals.

Debentures and Hospitality Packages

For the best seats and Wimbledon experiences, look no further than debentures and hospitality packages which promise world-class dining. Debentures are issued every five years, granting a seat at every day of The Championships for the next five-year period. As well as giving you wonderful benefits, they fund enhancements to the grounds (such as maintaining the Centre Court roof), benefitting all visitors to Wimbledon.

With a debenture, you’re guaranteed a seat on court and you get exclusive area access including specific restaurants. Debentures are available for Centre Court and No.1 Court. Another unique benefit of them is that your Wimbledon tickets are transferable and can be officially sold to others.

For more information about debentures, visit the official Wimbledon website.

Aside from these, if you’re seeking the luxury Wimbledon experience, a range of hospitality packages are available. They provide seating at your court of choice and award-winning menus from a selection of restaurants. The Lawn and La Gavroche serve up Michelin Star cuisine from chef Michel Roux.

For hospitality package availability, visit the official Wimbledon hospitality website.

Watching Wimbledon from Henman Hill and Beyond

You don’t have to have a ticket to immerse yourself in the buzz of Wimbledon. Tickets to The Championships are limited, and for a lot of people, the public ticket ballot is their only chance to get a seat there.

Additionally, you may not be a tennis fanatic but want to see what the atmosphere is like, so look at local Wimbledon screening events and watch parties.

When Wimbledon comes around, it’s a sign that summer has truly started in London and you will find numerous places to watch the tournament near Fulham Pier Hotel.

Starting with Fulham Pier itself, you can walk less than a minute from the hotel and watch The Championships unfold right next to the iconic River Thames. You don’t have to be in Wimbledon to taste the traditional strawberries and cream and a chilled glass of Pimm’s, simply stroll into Fulham Pier’s Riverside Market from 11am to 9pm on any day of The Championships.

If you’re looking for a pub atmosphere instead, there are plenty of options. By heading 20 minutes on foot from Fulham Pier Hotel into the city, you will reach Bedford Arms. You don’t need to book, just turn up, grab a drink and soak in the atmosphere while you watch world-class tennis.

A slightly shorter walk towards Putney Bridge takes you to Temperance Fulham which promises ‘match point vibes’ and even shows other grand slam tennis events throughout the year. You can book in advance for any day of Wimbledon via their website.
